Explain this extra fee on my account
Can someone help me by explaining an extra fee on my account?
I’m a new seller and noticing that amazon fees are very high and most of my proceed goes to them. For an item of 27 pound costing me 10 pound to order, I only get 4 pound profit per item, which means amazon get 13 pound each item (x3 as much). This item is small and doesn’t require much packaging.
On the revenue calculator, there is a fee called ‘other cost’ can someone explain what that is? If this ‘other cost’ we’re not there, I would be profiting over 8 pound each item, which is more reasonable.
Amazon support cannot explain this, for some reason they always offer very little help and are generally unknowledgable of the issues I have so far faced selling with amazon.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you post a screenshot of the revenue calculator results, someone will be able to advise you.
Have you included vat in your calculations?
FBM or FBA?
What selling plan? Individual or professional?
And BTW, Amazon Seller Support are generally of no use except for the simplest task so if you have already searched help, you are best asking here.

And post the transaction view of the sale

The other costs in the revenue calculator is VAT on the selling price, which may or may not be relevant to you.

A couple of things.
Firstly, are you registered as a business?
Individual, is just the type of account. And effects fees and reporting etc.
If your selling for profit, then you need to ensure that you are indeed a business on Amazon, or you will find your account suspended fairly quickly.
On the revenue calculator, you can remove the vat portion if you are not vat registered.
Simply change it to 0% and it should then give you a true cost.

If this is VAT costs and you are NOT VAT registered, im assuming these do not apply to you?

Think its a glitch. The other costs box is one that you are supposed to fill in yourself.

First of all edit your listing and enter correct dimensions of the product.
Second create a case with Amazon asking about this Other cost. They will definitely tell you about this.
Third check your purchase cost it seems to be very high so check with multiple suppliers to gte the best price.
