Customer wants a replacement but doesn't want to return the original item

customer received his order with damaged packaging (he said the product got damaged too - the exposed part with damaged packaging. but we cannot see in the photos that it was damaged too because the product is covered in plastic. he didn't open the entire box. maybe just a sneak peak of the exposed part)

he is asking for a replacement that we are willing to assist. We told him we can process it but we are requesting to return the original item. However, he doesn't want to make an effort returning the item. (we think that the product is not really damaged or just minimal)

You already told the buyer to open a return request, further messages should be marked "no response needed"

Of course the buyer may leave you negative feedback, but you can't give into fraud out of fear, you will become a target.
