A Very Good Question. Often Online Sellers ask this question, and it all centers on the products in question.
Holiday sales are based on a different principal. Though the year most buyers are buying for themselves, or things need around the house. But during the holiday season, they are buying for someone else. That factor has a lot to do with sales.
Furniture, makeup, deodorant, shoes, motor oil, are not usually given as a gift.
Strangely, on the Amazon News Announcement this week, Amazon is telling sellers to get ready to but some holiday advertising. They spread a lot of hype about how necessary it is to stay in competition with other sellers. But If you are selling products that cannot be given as a gift, the money spend on advertising just fattens Amazon's pockets.
