Refund of First Scan - Item lost Enroute - Safe-T claim Denied

Hi

A buyer opened a return request - amazon supplied a Royal Mail tracked returns label - Item posted 3 August - refund auto provided same day.

Item has still not been received. Last tracking scam was 18 August. Contacted Royal Mail, they have said that it is lost enroute and that I need to make a claim via Amazon - as amazon supplied the label. I have an email from Royal Mail to this affect.

Opened a safe-t claim. Amazon keep denying / closing the claim

"We have denied your reimbursement request for order 204-3720020-9115566.

Why is this happening?

The buyer returned the items using Royal Mail with tracking number ZR157721515GB. The tracking number confirms that the package is on its way back to your address."

I have explained that Royal Mail have said that the item is classed as lost and supplied a screenshot of the email from Royal Mail saying that I need to make a claim with Amazon as they purchased the returns label.

It doesn't appear that an actual person is reading these emails.

Can an amazon moderator escalate this please?

I know many many sellers have had this issue. From what I've gathered, you either give up or push and push RM for the refund. You'll almost certainly get nowhere with Amazon.

If I bought RM postage at a Post Office, and RM lost the item, they wouldn't tell me to claim from the PO.

There's a few posts where sellers have managed to get a refund from RM with postage bought through Amazon but they had to really keep at them.

RM have lost 3 return packages over the last 12 months or so & I've successfully claimed via RM for cost price comp & refund of postage. I used the RM business claim form & filed it as Tracked Returns. We do not have Tracked Returns on our RM business account.

Waste of time with Safe-T IMHO as Amazon state claims have to be made to the carrier.
