Unfair Deactivation of Listing During Active Appeal Process - Need Advice
Hello fellow sellers,
I'm reaching out to the community for advice and support regarding a situation I'm facing with my Amazon listing that I believe is very unfair. Here’s what happened:
My product, Ocean's Taste Baja Gold Sea Salt, 16oz (ASIN: B0DFDXJ3F7), was recently deactivated due to a trademark complaint (Complaint ID: 16328744511). The issue was with the word "mineral" on my packaging, which I used purely as a generic descriptor for the salt’s natural mineral content. I never intended to infringe on any trademarks, and I have taken all possible steps to resolve the issue.
Here's a summary of what I’ve done so far:
Removed "mineral" from my listing and product images to address the complaint.
Submitted all requested documentation as part of the appeal process.
Contacted Amazon Seller Support three times, and during the last call, I was assured that my listing did not violate any policies.
Despite all of this, my listing remains deactivated, even while the appeal is still being reviewed. This has had a significant impact on my business, as I am unable to sell the product during this time.
I believe it’s extremely unfair that my listing remains closed during an active appeal, especially after being told by Seller Support that there are no violations. It feels like I am being penalized despite doing everything possible to comply with Amazon’s rules and guidelines.
Has anyone else experienced a similar situation? If so, how did you handle it? Any advice on getting Amazon to reactivate my listing while the appeal is under review would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to any insights or suggestions you might have.
Best regards,

That is how Amazon works, guilty until proven innocent. Now, are you the brand owner? If not, do you have the brands permission to sell as a 3rd party on amazon?

Hello @Seller_56OV8Pa20GS80
Thank you for the information provided regarding recent infringement concerns you have been attempting to address. I understand that you did find that your packaging was infringing and have since made corrections to it. If there was infringement occurring, then we would advise against attempting to dispute the issue as that would be inaccurate.
While the product may no longer be infringing, this will not automatically resolve the violation you have seen. Have you attempted to contact the rights owner to see if they would retract the complaint after you have corrected the packaging?
We do encourage you to continue to refer to this thread with any information or details you have so we may continue to provide support.
Best,
Atlas
