UK registered brand wants to have this registered in US

Hi

We have a UK registered brand, in US its currently generic. Any way to transfer the UK brand to US so we can have A+ content, and all benefits of registered brands. I am hoping we dont need USTPO registration as I heard someone say this is possible

Thanks

Hello @Seller_wmCqlSN3N2mEb,

My name is Dougal and I am happy to address your questions.

First, Amazon Brand Registry is global so you do not have to re-apply. In order to report IP violations you do have to have a TM from the country in which you are reporting (can't report TM infringement in the US store with only your UK TM).

To add a US TM to the current brand enrollment, yes you do have to register the TM in USPTO, but you do not have to wait until it is fully registered, a pending TM from USPTO can be accepted. The step by step process as well as answers to other questions are available in the Brand Registry FAQ.

You cannot change the brand name attribute on an ASIN from Generic to your brand name. Please reference the Amazon Brand Name policy and the Product detail page rules - specifically the last bullet point on this help page.

Hope this helps, please let me know if you have any further questions.

Best, Dougal
