Handling time gap keep increasing - PLEASE HELP!
Hello everyone, please can someone explain to me how my handling time gap is increasing and saying that I am handing off packages to carriers on average 3.8 calendar days before your promised handling time. I have been purchasing all the labels within the handling specified on sellercentral and delivering them to the carrier who is beeping the boxes on the same day or the next day. It is impossible to be 3.8 days ahead, this Amazon metric is destroying the satisfaction of customers who receive the product as quickly as possible.
I received an email from Amazon saying that my account is at risk of being automatically enrolled in Automated Handling Time because my account has a gap of 2 days or more between the Handling Time you have set and your actual Handling Time.
Any tips on best practices on how I should proceed? Amazon will end my business if they activate automated handling time.
Please help!

Hi @Seller_YK8nyZtNXTxyC,
According to the help documentation (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G5L5DLMDU82XL82L), a handling time gap occurs when there's a difference between your promised handling time and actual handling time.
In your case, you're actually performing better than promised - delivering packages to carriers 3.8 days faster than your current settings indicate. While fast shipping is great, Amazon wants the promised times to accurately reflect actual performance so customers have realistic delivery expectations.
To reduce this gap manually, you can:
- Review and adjust your handling time settings to match your actual performance
- Enable Saturday/Sunday as operating days if you ship on weekends
- Use SKU-specific handling times if different products need different processing times
Being enrolled in Automated Handling Time isn't negative in your situation - it would simply adjust your handling time settings to match your actual, faster performance. This means potential customers would see more accurate (and shorter) delivery estimates, which could actually help increase sales.
Kind regards, Michael

As absurd as it is -- you must never ship until the last "ship by" date.
If you are buying labels through Amazon; do not buy the label until that last day.
If buying labels elsewhere; do not buy the label or confirm until that last day.
Further: check you default handling time every day to make sure it has not been changed to automated.
