I am trying to reactivate my deactivated account, and I am caught in a loop
My account has been deactivated since 2012. I have sent several appeals to reactivate my account. I have included a copy of my identification, a copy of a credit card statement showing my name and address, and several letters of explanation and plans of action.
Each time, I receive the message, "We completed our evaluation of your submission. We do not have enough information to remove the violation at this time."
I have asked what information they need, but they will not tell me.
Is there someone from Amazon who can help me escalate this issue? I'd appreciate the help.

Need more information-what is the violation?
Seller_yZ9JeArp4NhWM
I have to speculate because they won't tell me anything, but here's what I think I know. Unfortunately, a controlling ex-boyfriend took over my accounts in 2009 without permission because he had gotten his own account blocked. He did sell at least one counterfeit item, which the buyer rightfully complained about. This happened in 2012. I believe the account was suspended and then some time later also deactivated. I didn't try to reinstate it before now, but now, I'd like to be able to try selling on Amazon as a work-from-home business. This, of course, is stopping me. There is no information on my Account Health page. Everything has been reset to zero. There's nothing else I can look up. I don't know what to do.

If that is the case, then he has to reinstate his account for you to be able to move forward.

Thank you for your help. I know that won't be an option since I can't control the actions of an ex-boyfriend from 2012. So I have to try to work with what I've got. I scoured my accounts, and the only performance notification I received isn't related to any of that. So I've appealed to Amazon with an updated POA, which has a specific mention of the single performance notification. Of course, it was rejected. But I include it here for your perusal:
Updated Information Begins Here:
There is only one Performance Notification on my dashboard. It is dated December 11, 2023. It references a DVD that is allegedly violating Amazon’s Restricted Products policy. The product is:
ASIN: B001G1FL42
SKU: KL-ZJDT-B4U6
Title: Skins, Vol. 1
Root Cause Analysis
In 2012 or earlier, Skins, Vol. I was listed for sale on my Amazon Seller Account. On December 11, 2023, over a decade after my account was deactivated, I received a Performance Notification telling me the product had been unlisted. I should have taken action immediately to remove the product from my listings, but I did not.
FYI: Skins Vol. I is an unrated British drama about teenagers that is still for sale on Amazon from multiple other sellers. It isn’t pornographic or illegal, so I’m not sure why it was flagged. However, I will not list it again, and I would not list it again even if I could. I don’t even have the DVD in my possession anymore.
Corrective Actions Taken
I have removed the product Skins, Vol. I from my listings, and I will not add the product back to my listings. This is the only performance notification I have, so I hope this information satisfies your request for more information.
Preventive Measures and Long-Term Solutions
To prevent future issues and ensure compliance with Amazon's policies, I have implemented the following long-term solutions:
My business plan does not include used or new DVDs. I will not list used or new DVDs, including, but not limited to, Skins, Vol. I. There is no possibility of repeating this situation.
The Text of My Previous Plan of Action Begins Here:
Plan of Action for Amazon Seller Account Reactivation
Dear Amazon Seller Performance Team,
I am writing to submit a Plan of Action (POA) to address the issues that led to the deactivation of my Amazon Seller Account. I take full responsibility for the situation and am committed to ensuring that such issues do not occur again. Below, I have outlined the root causes of the problem, the steps I have taken to resolve the issues, and the preventive measures I will implement to ensure compliance with Amazon's policies.
Root Cause Analysis
After reviewing the communication from Amazon and analyzing my account's activities, I identified the following root causes for the deactivation:
The sale of counterfeit goods
The failure to provide good customer service
Unauthorized access to my account
Corrective Actions Taken
To address the issues identified above, I have taken the following corrective actions:
I have removed all listings that were flagged for policy violations and conducted a thorough review to ensure all remaining products meet Amazon’s standards.
I have read and reviewed all of Amazon’s Program Policies, including Amazon’s General Policies, Product and Listing Requirements, and policies on Intellectual Property to ensure not repeating any violations from the past.
I have reviewed all customer ratings and evaluated where customer service breakdowns took place in order to prevent them in the future.
I have created a customer service policy based on the tenet that the customer is always right.
I have added my cellphone number to my public profile to enable customers to reach me by telephone and enhance my customer service.
I have removed unauthorized access to my account.
I have taken measures to prevent unauthorized access to my account in the future, including changing my email address associated with my Amazon Seller Account, changing my password to a password unique to Amazon, and adding two-step verification to my Amazon login.
Preventive Measures and Long-Term Solutions
To prevent future issues and ensure compliance with Amazon's policies, I have implemented the following long-term solutions:
I will focus on products that are Print on Demand (POD). These products will be unique and original. They will be sourced from Printify, a reputable company.
I will ensure that all products I sell are free from any violations, including counterfeiting and trademark violations.
I will proactively offer customers refunds or other appropriate compensation if they express dissatisfaction with one of my products.
I will protect my login information, including my email address, my new password, and my two-step authentication to prevent any access to my account from anyone but myself.
Conclusion
I understand the importance of maintaining high standards on the Amazon marketplace, and I am committed to delivering a superior experience to Amazon customers. The actions I have taken demonstrate my dedication to resolving the issues that led to my account suspension and preventing them from reoccurring.
I understand the severity of the violations against my account, and I plead for another chance to become a valued Amazon seller again. These violations took place over a decade ago, and I hope you will enable me to make things right by reactivating my account.
I kindly request that my Amazon Seller Account be reactivated so that I can continue to contribute positively to the Amazon marketplace. I am fully committed to maintaining compliance with all of Amazon’s policies moving forward. I will do everything humanly possible to prevent another violation.
I can guarantee that there will be no intellectual property violations, no poor customer service experiences, and no unauthorized access to my accounts due to the preventive and corrective measures I have taken.
Thank you for considering my Plan of Action. I look forward to your positive response.
To confirm my identity, I have attached copies of my current valid driver’s license and a credit card statement that both show the same name and address I have used on my Amazon account for more than a decade.
Sincerely,
Seller_yZ9JeArp4NhWM
From other posts I've read, it appears the fact that my account has been deactivated for more than a decade means I won't get anywhere unless I am able to escalate this to Amazon outside of the usual process. I am hoping someone from Amazon who monitors these forums might be willing to help me.

Unfortunately, because he used your account and it was caught for counterfeit, that is one of the two issues. One is that he used your account (connecting the two accounts) and the counterfeit violation. So, the DVD issue is just an add on.

Hello @Seller_yZ9JeArp4NhWM,
Thank you for posting your concern with your account deactivation.
I appreciate the information provided, as it does seem there's a lack of understanding exactly why the account was deactivated and a lack of notifications or communication on the reason. I have passed your information to the appropriate teams for further review. They will likely follow up through your notifications, however if they provide me any updates on the situation, I will follow up here with you.
The forums community and I are here to support you. Please let us know how we can help you from this point forward.
Emet.
